Ubisoft-Management bestritt nicht die Nachricht, dass Tencent das Studio möglicherweise aufkaufen könnte, um es zu stabilisieren. Allerdings werden derzeit «alle strategischen Optionen» geprüft.

Tencent is one of China's largest Internet technology and entertainment companies. Was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in Shenzhen, China. It is a diversified company whose activities cover various areas. Known for its online platforms and services, including the WeChat messenger, which is one of the most popular mobile applications in China, as well as QQ, an online gaming and social networking platform.
Tencent is also actively investing in the gaming industry. To date, it has acquired several major game developers and publishers both in China and abroad. Owns such famous studios as Riot Games, Supercell, Epic Games and others. Tencent also has stakes in Activision Blizzard and Ubisoft.
