Your overall Wardog Level in WARDOGS is the sum of your levels across all six progression tracks: Assault, Medic, Support, Recon, Driver, and Pilot. That's why players who stick exclusively to Assault or Medic progress noticeably slower than those who split their time between different roles. In this guide, we'll explain the best order for leveling each track and the fastest methods for gaining XP in every one of them.
How Overall Level Works in WARDOGS
If you only play Assault, you'll eventually hit the ceiling for that particular track while the other five remain at zero, even though your overall Wardog Level takes all of them into account. That's the basic principle behind efficient progression: level each track just far enough to unlock its most useful equipment, then move on to the next one.
Best Order for Leveling Each Track
Start with Medic. Your first goal should be the Smoke Grenade at Level 5, followed by the self-healing item at Level 9, since the orange Medkit instantly restores your Health to full. Smoke Grenades give you cover while reviving teammates. At Level 11, unlock the Defibrillator. It lets you revive teammates quickly in the middle of combat, including inside the Hot Zone, regardless of which role you're focusing on at the time, while earning cash and XP for every successful revive.
Next, work on Support. Level 5 is enough at first, since this unlocks the handheld anti-tank launcher. Damaging trucks and helicopters with it earns Support XP while also removing major threats from the battlefield. Later, return to Support and reach Level 8 to unlock the Large Hammer, which is required for building Oil Derricks and heavier fortifications.
After that, level Pilot to 10. Until then, use the available MH-6 to transport passengers into the Hot Zone and run supply deliveries. At Level 10, you'll unlock the Z20 Lakota transport helicopter, which carries far more passengers and is much better suited to full-scale logistics runs.
If flying isn't your thing, switch to Driver and unlock the Buggy at Level 8. It's a light off-road vehicle that handles rough terrain extremely well, stops quickly, and gets you into the combat zone fast.
Next, bring Recon up to Level 10 for the Mosin rifle. It isn't the best weapon in the Recon track, but it is your first proper bolt-action rifle. You can start leveling Recon with weapons much earlier, since the SKS unlocks at Level 5.
Leave Assault for last. It levels more slowly than the other tracks, and there are no particularly fast shortcuts for grinding its XP.
Now let's go through each role in detail.
How to Level Driver Fast
The fastest way to level Driver is to use a Ural truck and deliver supply pallets to FOBs. Before loading up, always check what each base actually needs. You can see its current resource levels on the map. Delivering supplies that are already overstocked is simply a waste of time. Drop off the pallets, wait around 30 seconds, grab another truck, and repeat the route.
Each unloaded pallet awards roughly 750 Driver XP. The player who then unloads the supplies at the base also earns Support XP. It's a repetitive method, but it's predictable and barely depends on how intense the fighting is elsewhere on the map.
How to Level Assault Fast
Assault is leveled mainly through kills and assists with assault rifles, as well as grenade kills. Unlike the other tracks, there are almost no shortcuts here. Head into the Hot Zone, rack up kills with an assault rifle, and pick up grenades along the way. If you manage to reach the enemy base, throw them into fortified positions whenever you get the chance.
There's no way around it: Assault is one of the slowest progression tracks in the game.
Recon
One important detail that many players overlook is that spotting an enemy with Binoculars or a Rangefinder grants Recon XP. If a teammate later kills the marked target, you'll receive additional XP for the assist. Because of this, one of the safest ways to level Recon quickly is to constantly mark enemies without even engaging them directly.
A reliable setup works like this: load into Zestafona with a light kit consisting of a backpack with Bandages, a Rangefinder, any available armor, preferably Tier 3, a handgun for emergencies, and a Parachute in case you decide to jump down and join the fight later.
Buy a light helicopter and fly to the smokestack in the center of the map. Carefully land on the upper platform. Once you're down, nudge the helicopter just enough to make it fall off the smokestack. Players on the ground will then have no obvious clue that someone is hiding on top.
From there, simply spend the match marking enemies with Binoculars without shooting or drawing attention to yourself. The position gives you a view over a large part of the map, and a successful run can earn around 100,000 to 120,000 in-game cash through spotting rewards and subsequent assists. It's one of the safest ways to level Recon quickly.
How to Level Pilot Fast
The fastest way to level Pilot is through supply deliveries. Dropping a pallet in the correct area awards roughly 750 Pilot XP. Transporting passengers also provides XP and cash, but there's usually much more competition for those runs because many players are chasing the same rewards.
A more consistent method is to pick up supply pallets, check what a particular FOB actually needs, and deliver exactly that. It's also worth practicing fast approaches where you descend in a smooth arc without hovering before touchdown. Saving a few seconds on every landing adds up to a significant XP difference over a long session.
Supply and passenger transport is also an excellent way to make money. During a long match with constant deliveries, you can earn more than 100,000, and good logistics can push that above 200,000. Your final profit depends heavily on how many runs you complete successfully and how many vehicles you lose. Pilot progression can therefore increase both your level and your bank balance at the same time.
How to Level Support Fast
There aren't many secrets here: build, build, and build some more. Every structure you construct at a base grants Support XP, but Oil Derricks inside your own base are especially effective for leveling this track.
There are a couple of tricks that can speed things up. The first is animation canceling. When swinging the hammer, release the mouse button immediately after each hit, then press it again straight away.
There's another useful trick as well. To make the yellow construction marker appear in roughly the same place each time, stand as far away from the structure as possible while still being able to hit it, then keep building from that position. It takes a little practice, but combining these two techniques lets you build Oil Derricks much faster.
Another way to level Support is by destroying enemy vehicles. As you can probably guess, however, it isn't nearly as efficient as building.
How to Level Medic Fast
Three things level Medic: reviving teammates, getting kills with SMGs, and healing allies. There aren't any other major progression methods for this track.
The fastest place to farm XP is a FOB under mortar fire. It sounds a little grim because you're essentially gaining experience from your teammates getting blown up, but wounded players appear there constantly. You can keep reviving them with the Defibrillator and earn Medic XP almost nonstop.
Add Bandage healing for teammates you've just revived, along with a few SMG kills between revives, and Medic levels noticeably faster than it does during normal frontline support play.
Putting everything together, the most efficient approach is to keep rotating between roles: start with Medic, move to Support, then Pilot, Driver, Recon, and finally Assault. Your overall Wardog Level will rise much faster this way than it does for players who only want to shoot enemies and gain levels through combat.
WARDOGS is designed around flexible loadouts rather than locking players into fixed classes. The progression system rewards players who are willing to switch roles constantly instead of mastering only one track.
