This arcade hockey action game features three-on-three matches on a miniature rink, with no rules to restrict play. Players can deliver checks that send opponents over the boards and use power-ups that appear on the ice, including a speed boost or the ability to enlarge the goalie. The roster includes 40 NHL stars representing every team.
Two control schemes are available: button controls for passing, shooting, checking and performing trick moves, and the more advanced Skill Stick from NHL 09. Online play includes ranked matches as well as games in which three players on one console face three players on another.
