This turn-based science-fiction strategy game follows interstellar expansion, with the player guiding one of 12 races from a single planet toward a galactic empire. The star map is used to manage colonies and fleets, research technologies, establish settlements, trade, and negotiate with rival powers through alliances, demands, and threats.
When diplomacy gives way to conflict, battles unfold in real-time 3D space. Fleets fight while ground combat takes place alongside the ship engagements, with marines able to attack planetary defenses. The empire’s development includes more than 100 technologies, covering areas such as ship construction, defenses, and biological warfare.
