This medieval action-adventure follows a man-at-arms left for dead after a battle. When he awakens, he discovers that his lord’s banner is missing and sets out across a war-torn land to find it. The story explores the brutality of war in a bleak medieval-fantasy setting, where the protagonist is neither a noble knight nor a celebrated adventurer.
Combat is based on swordplay and rewards careful timing in both attack and defence. The fighter can slash, thrust, parry, dodge, punch and bash enemies, and must also face dangerous bosses in duels. As he progresses, he unlocks combat treatises that grant new abilities and techniques. Characters and battles are depicted with rotoscoped pixel animation.
