This puzzle adventure based on Jeff Smith’s comic follows three cousins—Fone Bone, Phoney Bone, and Smiley Bone—who become separated in a desert and find their way into a forested valley. They must find a route back to Boneville while uncovering the mysteries of the unfamiliar region.
The player explores the valley, solves puzzles, and takes on mini-games while meeting its inhabitants, including Thorn, the Great Red Dragon, rat creatures, and talking bugs. The mysteries include a curious map, Thorn’s unknown past, and the plans of a hooded creature.
