A medieval city-building simulator and real-time strategy game about castle life and a struggle for power in a kingdom divided by rival barons. In Stronghold 2, the player develops the economy, manages the population and chooses how to maintain order: peasants who commit crimes can be rehabilitated or punished. Tournaments and banquets help keep subjects content, while rival lords raise armies and threaten the player’s lands.
Power can be consolidated by earning Honour through title, strategy or force, then competing for the crown in Kingmaker mode. Sieges can spill into the castle’s buildings, and enemy strongholds must be taken by assault. The game also includes online Kingmaker and Deathmatch matches, as well as offline skirmishes against computer-controlled opponents.
