Gran Turismo 4 is a racing simulator spanning a century of automotive history, with competitions on tracks around the world. It features more than 500 cars, from vintage models to modern vehicles, and up to 100 courses, some of which can be raced in reverse. Cars can be customized with changes such as racing tires and gear ratios.
In career mode, players work their way up through competitions, earn money, unlock cars and courses, buy and sell vehicles, upgrade parts, and take part in more than 200 championships. Arcade mode offers races against AI opponents or other players, while online events support up to six racers. Photo mode lets players take pictures of their cars at well-known locations around the world.
