A real-time strategy game about the colonization of North America, spanning the founding of the first settlements through the era of the Wild West. Its three campaigns contain six stories in which players lead the Spanish, English, forest or prairie Native Americans, patriots, or settlers.
Missions involve developing settlements and technology, commanding units, and fighting on land and at sea. Factions can field heroes and elite troops, while technological progress ranges from canoes to frigates and from stagecoaches to steam trains. Alongside the single-player campaigns, the game offers multiplayer modes, including a competition to build railroads.
