A procedurally generated detective adventure set in a stylized film-noir world, where each playthrough brings a new murder case, suspects, and clues. The player visits locations, examines objects, and interrogates characters, recording useful information in a notebook to narrow down the suspects and solve the murder before time runs out. Each location visited costs a day, making the choice of where to investigate part of the case.
Choices and their consequences, including character interactions and the detective’s death, persist until a new game begins. The player can focus on the investigation or spend the remaining time on other activities around the city; combat is generally best avoided, as a single bullet can kill the detective. Optional challenges are generated for each playthrough, and completing them earns badges and permanent bonuses for future cases.
