A 2D side-scrolling beat ’em up with platforming elements, set in a fantasy version of feudal Japan. Samurai Yamazaki Jiro battles the forces of Yomi, the Japanese underworld, to stop them from consuming the land of the living.
Combat combines melee and ranged attacks, weapon switching, and aerial combos. Jiro can wield a sword, tetsubo, naginata, and arm blades, while wall jumps, wall runs, and a grappling hook help him move and fight. Across seven areas, the environment can be used against enemies, who can be thrown into traps or crushed by collapsing structures. New weapon moves become available as the game progresses, and the foes include minibosses and larger bosses.
