An action-adventure with platforming and puzzle elements follows four previously untold adventures of Lara Croft in search of ancient artifacts. The settings include the ruins of Rome, the interior of a German U-boat, and the rooftops of a high-tech city.
After Lara goes missing in Egypt, her friends and companions gather at the Croft Estate for a memorial service. Later, they recall her past exploits, revealing new details about adventures that had remained secret.
