This skateboarding sports game lets players shape their character, story, and skating style through their choices. Its skating grounds include locations in Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. Tony Hawk's Proving Ground also lets players alter and build terrain, and carve lines in bowls.
The game offers expanded character customization and a video editor with editing tools and visual effects. Players can skate with friends in an online Skate Lounge, moving between single-player and online play seamlessly. New moves in the Nail the Trick system include Nail the Grab and Nail the Manual.
