Wizards and Warlords is a turn-based fantasy strategy game set in a randomly generated world populated by rival wizards and warlords. The player creates a sovereign or chooses a preset, then pursues world conquest, struggles to survive in a dangerous realm, or governs one of several competing states as events and faction interactions shape the campaign. World settings, cultures, and races vary between games.
Cities and fortresses can be managed, while research and industry expand a realm’s power. The player designs arcane constructs, recruits armies and heroes, and explores dungeons and ruins. Random events and event chains influence each campaign, and several aspects of the game can be modified, including the creation of custom world maps.
