Plattformer
Einer der ältesten Genres von Videospielen – der Plattformspieler – zeichnet sich durch einen besonderen Spielablauf aus. Der Spieler steuert einen Charakter, der sich durch das Level bewegt, auf „Plattformen“ springt, Leitern hinaufklettert, Gegenstände sammelt und gegen Gegner kämpft. Die Intelligenz der Gegner ist normalerweise entweder schwach oder völlig abwesend. Einige Plattformspiele konzentrieren sich auf Geschwindigkeit und Reaktion, andere ähneln mehr Rätseln, und wieder andere erfordern vom Spieler die richtige Kombination von Bewegungen, um Hindernisse zu überwinden. Die genreliche Vielfalt der Plattformspiele ist sehr groß.
